CELL Phone Frequency Chart

Dominant Frequency

Secondary Frequency
Explanation
calif only:

Cell Phones and Wireless Internet AirCards are Commonly MultiBand or Frequency. This is because it is cheap and easy to get a manufacturer like Nokia, Novatel, Motorola, LG, Samsung, Kyocera to build in a dual band or tri band radio into their cellular phones. And it is tougher to buy one frequency ie the 1900 mhz from from the country, state, bankrupt cell phone company of your choice across a large geographic area.

Besides, Most cell phone companies are a patchwork of defunct older smaller cell phone service providers who's towers are still standing and in decent condition. So instead of re-tuning every tower, most carriers just use multi band handsets.

Dominant Frequency simply means that if you have VERIZON Wireless for example, you will be making cell phone calls on the 800mhz frequency in most parts of the country. In some rare places like New Orleans, You may be on the Secondary Frequency, 1900 mhz, to make that same phone call.

This is important for you to know because the highest fidelity cellular repeater and antenna systems are finely tuned to just ONE SPECIFIC Frequency. Yes, you can get a dual band repeater and amplifier but, you'll be sacrificing quality for functionality. Besides, You probably will not ever step foot in a Secondary Frequency area, so just get a cellular repeater that focuses on your primary Dominant Frequency.

Introducing the New:
"Cyclone Home-Vehicle Cell Phone Frequency Repeater"

For Wireless Internet AirCards and Cell Phones - Home & Vehicles

Let's face it. We hate wires but love the consistency of a wired phone call or internet connection.

If we are talking mobile internet, as far as that wire reaches, you've got the same DSL or t1 or Cable Modem Speeds. Not so with wireless. The further you get from the source of the signal, the slower and more frustrating your VOIP Call or Internet Web Surfing. If we are talking about cell signals, we love the freedom of wireless but a wired phone is much more reliable.

Until Now... No. The New "3g Cyclone EVDO-HSDPA Cellular Repeater" will not change the fact that RF signals get weaker over distance. But what it does do is GREATLY EXPAND the DISTANCE you can physically go. It makes CDMA, GSM, EVDO and HSDPA Wireless Broadband Access / Connection go farther than Sprint, Verizon T-Mobile or Cingular ever expected from any standard stock cell phone booster antenna.

The New "3g Cyclone EVDO-HSDPA Cellular Repeater" is a system. So that means that each Repeater Shipped to You Must be CUSTOM CONFIGURED for your specific needs. If this sounds complex, it's not. There are 4 types of antennas that go on your Repeater's "Engine," - the amplifier. Depending on your specific usage environment and demands, we will assemble the optimal components for you and ship for you to just "Plug and Play."

How To Install Your
"3g Cyclone EVDO-HSDPA Cellular Repeater"

Outdoor "3g Lightning Rod"Antenna Selection
1. For Starters, Let's look at our own corporate hq environment. As you can see above, we only have one 3g EVDO tower within sight. So we decided to go with a 15 degree directional "Lightning Rod" as our OUTDOOR The 3g CYCLONE Cellular Repeater works with Cell Phones, EVDO AirCards and HSDPA AirCards too.PICKUP ANTENNA. The 15 degree Lightning Rod is more powerful than an omni directional antenna since it's full attention is focused in one direction.

2. Most of you will be in a similar situation if you are getting only 1 bar or even 0 bars. But for those of you who are surrounded by cell towers in every direction (if you are in a large metro area, this means you...), use an omni directional OUTDOOR PICKUP ANTENNA. Why? Simple, the more cell towers you have access to, the more reliable your connections will be. This is a benefit of Verizon or Sprint or Cingular's Network's ability to balance your session with less busy towers.

Indoor "3g Lightning Rod"Antenna Selection
3. This same principal applies with the INDOOR RELAY ANTENNA. But this time, figure out whether all your EVDO / HSDPA users will be in a linear direction from the INDOOR RELAY ANTENNA or will they be everywhere? If you expect your users to be everywhere, as in our office situation, use the omni indoor antenna.

Tricks of the Trade
The 3g CYCLONE Cellular Repeater works with Cell Phones, EVDO AirCards and HSDPA AirCards too.4. At this point, there are a few issues to be aware of. First, we do NOT recommend using 2 omni directional antennas unless you've got a lead wall between them. You see, each of the antennas are like a speaker and a microphone. So, omni antennas will hear each other and create the most hideous subsonic screech. In fact, this is hour a cell phone jammer works.

Second, DO NOT USE A CELL PHONE to guage if your Repeater system is working correctly. Or if your directional outdoor pickup antenna is pointed in the right direction. No, nothing will blow up. But you'll be wasting your time. Verizon Cell phone generally work on the 800mhz frequency and your 3g Repeater will be at 1900mhz. So yes, even if you have a xv6600 or i730 or xv8100 with EVDO built in, those bars that you see are NOT READING EVDO Signal. This goes for HSDPA too. The LG vx9800 is the exception to the rule.. it has 2 different antenna bars.

Third, There only really only 2 ways to see if you've pointed your outdoor pickup antenna in the right direction. Use one of those $10,000 RF measuring devices or use your Laptop with running AirCard. The bars you see on your screen are indeed 3g EVDO / HSDPA Bars.

Sweeping and Scanning for 4 Bars
5. You gotta be connected and surfing for those bars to give you a reliable reading. OR WITH A CELL PHONE, YOU MUST BE ON A PHONE CALL TO GET REALTIME SIGNAL BAR READINGS. I know.. this sounds like an oxymoron but it is true. If you are NOT connected to the internet or on a phone call, then the bars on your VZAccess Manager or Sprint Connection Manager or Cingular Connection Manager or Cell Phone will take about 40 seconds to register any shift in EVDO / HSDPA signal intensity. And even when it finally does, it's going to be inaccurate until you connect and get online. When you are online and connected... the bars will reflect true rf strength in real time with about a 1 second delay.

SO, if you are scanning the horizon for strong sweet spot cellular rf signals, then have a buddy sit in front of your laptop and tell you when the bars jump. But, remember scan and sweep your directional antenna suuuuuuuper slowly. Pretend you are a Tai Chi Master competing against a snail. The last thing you want is to sweep past a cell tower before the signal meter could register a jolt.

If you've digested this primer and want to max out your EVDO or HSDPA speeds, call us at 310 598 1606 or or 470 613 9407. We'll give you a quick quote and recommend the right system based on your personal goals.

EVDO-Coverage.com Shipping Office
Laptop was getting 0-1 bar before the "3g Cyclone EVDO HSDPA Cellular Repeater" was installed. I had barely enough of a connection to get online. Yahoo.com took about 2 minutes to load.
We weren't sure how much cable we'd need so we just used the longer one. In retrospect, we could have gotten a half length cable. All the conditions were ideal for it. The Outdoor Pickup Antenna is facing away from the indoor omni relay antenna and there is a good deal of building insulating in between.
Our Plants are really green.
Drilling or Outdoor Installation is NOT Necessary BUT, We decided to complicate matters... So, this is where we could have drilled the wall to reach directly into the office. The shorter the cable, the stronger the signal you hand off to the amp for... well... amplification.
